Dave is an avid bird-watcher and loves hiking and spending time outdoors. He’s also suffered with the genetic eye disorder Fuch’s Dystrophy, causing the cells in his eyes to thin and die off, leading to unregulated fluid build-up and cloudy, blurred vision.
As Dave’s vision diminished, he had to give up on activities he always enjoyed. He could no longer drive, follow the ball in a game of golf or identify the details on birds or wildlife.
Dave’s life improved dramatically following two corneal transplant surgeries with Dr. Allen Eghrari at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. His vision is now extremely clear and he’s back to doing all the things he loves. “It’s the only surgery I’ve ever had that actually made me younger. I’m seeing better now that I did 15 or 20 years ago.”
Dave is extremely grateful to the donor family who made his transplants possible. “My donors gave me the greatest gifts. Renewed vision has made a bigger impact in my life than I can truly express. Thank You!”
